Early Years Provision at Temple Ewell CEP School
A warm welcome to Acorn’s Class!
Acorns class is the happy and creative home of Reception and Year 1 at Temple Ewell CEP School. The Acorns team of outstanding practitioners enable creative and inspiring learning opportunities for the Acorns children in partnership with our parents and carers and the wider school and village communities.
We follow the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for the Reception Children , learning through play and focused learning opportunities. The children have the opportunity to guide the learning and often work in collaborative thinking groups, enabling them to build ‘Habits of Mind’.
It is important to the Acorns Team that our children have a rich and varied learning experience. Learning throughout the year is enhanced with educational visits and visitors, for example the Guilbenkian Theatre, Dover Castle, The National Gallery, Wingham Wildlife Park, etc.
Transition is very important to us at Temple Ewell CEP School. There is a thorough programme to support the children as they move into school and this rigorous approach continues as the children move through the year groups and beyond into Secondary school.
The greatest recommendation we could have is that of the children…
“I love school more than ice cream!” (Jessica)
“Learning is so exciting!” (Alfie)
“Acorns is the best class!” (Georgie)
