Temple Ewell parent / baby toddler group has been going since June 2009. It is run by volunteers who are DBS checked. We meet every Tuesday during term time in the small hall at Temple Ewell primary school from 9am-11am.
What do we do?
9-10am free play.
There is a baby area, book corner and two tables with play doh, puzzles or building blocks on. Mats are where children pick which toys they want to play with, i.e. wooden railway, cars or the farm. There is dressing up, dollies and other small world toys. There is also a table for colouring and drawing.
10-10:15 snack time.
The children have a choice of healthy snacks and drinks. This is when we sing Happy Birthday to make birthday children feel special. Every birthday child gets a present.
10:20 – 10:45 creative workshop.
Two tables where we do painting, stickering, gluing etc.
10:45 – 11:00 Singing.
We use the instruments and have a sing song finishing with the goodbye song.
We are lucky enough to have outside area to use when the weather is fine, the sand and water is always popular. There is a large chalk board for the children to use.
We have a yearly trip, this year we went to Jungle Jims. I addition we have regular theatre trips, we have seen Noddy at the Leas Cliffe Hall and are going to see Snow Play at the Gulbenkian at Christmas. All of which are subsidised.
We did a treasure hunt in Kearsney Abbey, a gruffalo hunt in Dragon Woods, Teddy Bear picnic, farm trip and joined in Toddle on the Prom for Sport relief. We have taken part in Barnardos Big Toddle twice and raised over £500 while having great fun. As well as an Easter egg hunt and Christmas party.
Come and join us we are a friendly bunch of mums, dads and Grandmas. See you next Tuesday!
